Loading Bay

This is a picture of Loading Bay one of Truro's best street skateboarding spots. Most people use it on wet days now as its the last resort to get a skate in as you get kicked out some times. I like the way the place looks deserted.

Kids Kingdom close up

This is a picture of a derelict mining site in St.Agnes Named Kids Kingdom where used to skate before the place got invaded by Gypsy's and they took it over. I like the form and structure of all the ruins and the potential it has for skateboarding in this landscape.

Cruzing

I took this picture of max cruzing by in a under ground car park and fallowed him with the camera on a slow shutter speed to make sure the back ground is blurred but you can still see him fairly well to show the speed of skateboarding.

Kids Kingdom

This is a black and white film photo taking with a Pentax K1000 camera. The picture is off a place in St.Agnes called kids Kingdom where people used to skate before the mental gypsy took it over.

ghetto Ramp 2

This is the another picture of the ghetto Bowl showing you some of the tools the skater are using to clear the place out. I like my black and white pictures because in the photos I am showing you the reality of Cornwall for a skater and not every thing all the holiday makes see like the beaches and the picture perfect sun sets of Cornwall in this way I think my work relates to Robert Frank and his travels through America showing us the reality of America and the American dream.

Ghetto Ramp

This is the old deserted ghetto bowl which skater's are now clearing I like the way the place looks old and dingy. This was taken with a Pentax K1000 using black and white film.

No Entry

This is a entrance to a new skate spot where skaters are clearing it out in St. Agnes. I took this picture of the brambles and the old rusty gate with the NO ENTRY sign on it because I think it shows how skateboarders like to keep the places that they use secret and have pride in them.

Lurking in the Corridor

This is a photo joiner of Jake lurking in the corridor I made this by taking a series of different images and arranging each separate one on Photoshop making them fit together like a jigsaw puzzle but it gives off a distorted effect which I don't really mind.

Porthtowan joiner

This photo joiner of Porthtown is made up of 13 individual images taken at different angles then molded into one final image using Photoshop. Then I cloned and blurred the edges of each image to make the image look seamless.

Overall I am happy with the result of this image and think it has fitted together well making a panoramic perspective of the landscape.

Newquay Photomontage

This is a photomontage of Newquay Woodernwaves skatepark made up of 42 images, arranged and stuck down on to paper. I then took a photo of my photomontage and put it into Photoshop, cropped it down and resized the image.

In this image your eyes are drawn from the background to the foreground.

Self Portrait Photomontage

This is a self portrait photomontage made up of 19 images arranged and stuck together on a piece of paper then I took a photo of my photomontage and put it on Photoshop and cropped the image down.

I like the way this image shatters the usual sense of perspective and instead creates a fisheye feel which makes me look close up but i was still able to fit the whole of me in.
This is similar technique used by David Hockney in his polaroid collages. Have a gander at the link on the right.

Deceiving sunset

Deceiving sunset is a picture taken from my friends car driving back into St.Agnes just after the sun had set. I intended to take a picture of an on coming car driving up the road but I wanted the windscreen wipers of my friends car in the way of the on coming cars headlights making it look like an interesting sunset.

I'm not usually inspired by sunsets, they always seem cheesy in my opinion but this one has a road movie feel about it and reminds me of the American road movie Vanishing Point.

Ghost

This long exposure image of Tyler on Highertown Road one autumn evening shows him as a ghostly figure looking towards the oncoming traffic. I achieved this effect by asking Tyler to step out of the frame halfway through the exposure. I asked Tyler to stand on the left side of the frame to follow the rule of thirds in this composition. There are strong leading lines in this image that lead your eye in the same direction that Tyler is looking. I also liked the use of doubles or repetition for this image; two street lamps, two trees, two bollards, and two cars.

Mist at Mabe

This is a picture of Mabe skatepark just after the sun went down and the mist rolled in I took this photo using my Nikon D70s with the flash on to make the mist look as thick as it was in the photo.

This is a picture of a a guy doing a Nollie Front Side Big Spin on a Quarter Pipe at Mabe skateboard park. I took this on my Nikon D70s I like the way I have caught him in mid air. To get the whole man in I had to stand on the top of the railings, but I like the angle looking down at the ramp. I think this is a successful picture even though its a bum shot.

Pablo

This is a picture of Pablo doing a Crook at Mabe skatepark.

This is a picture of Sam Becket doing a 5 feet Tail Grab out of the vert at Mount Hawke. I took this on my Nikon D70s.
This is a picture I took of Sam Boswerth on Mount Hawke vert. I took this on my Nikon D70s.

Hand Plant

I took this picture of a man skating the vert doing a hand plant. I like the way this is an old school trick and there is a leading line from the top of the ramp to the guy. I took this picture on my Nikon D70s.

Indy Tucknee

This is a image of some one skating the vert ramp at mount hawke doing a indy tucknee I took this on my Nikon D70s

Blabac

This is a link of one of my favourte photographers Mike Blabac who is a skateboard photographer. I find his work appealing to the eye because i think he keeps the composition simple with nothing other than the skater and the content in the frame.

Nick looking G

This is a studio picture of Nick that has not been edited I took this on a Cannon 40d with low key lighting. I think the skateboard doesn't just show that its his hobbie its also his lifestyle.
